The documents you need, step by step.
To start your driving course, all you need to do is come to the NELIT office. From there we will guide you through obtaining the documents you need to begin training.
Documents needed to enrol
- Your identity card.
- The psychological assessment — issued by authorised centres.
- The medical certificate — issued by authorised clinics (you will need a note from your family doctor stating that you have no chronic or neuropsychiatric conditions).
Documents needed during the course
- After enrolment comes the theory training, and your road law teacher will keep your attendance record.
- During the driving lessons, your instructor keeps and updates the record of your driving hours.
Documents needed for the category B exam
- A copy of your identity card.
- The psychological assessment marked "Psychologically fit for category B".
- The medical certificate marked "Fit to drive".
- A criminal record certificate marked "DRIVING EXAM" — issued on the spot at any police station.
- The receipt for the 89 lei licence fee (paid at the post office).
We recommend authorised clinics for your medical and psychological assessments, so you avoid endless queues, hidden fees and wasted time.

Validity
How long your documents stay valid.
Keep these deadlines in mind so you do not have to redo your paperwork before the exam.
